All mustangs before 70 and after 79 are good looking. The rest are ugly as sin. They look like javelins. And the fact they cut power by like half didn't help any either.

I think the cars were a reflection of the time. Most cars were not the best looking after 73. fuel problems & higher safety standards with little or no engineering turned vehicles into transportation vehicles with large bumpers and low Hp and not fun vehicles. The 460 was available in the mustang until 72 I think and then they went down to the 351 for the power motors. (I could be a year off but I think I'm right.)

As far as Javelin's go, sure there is a resemblance but I love AMC too so it's no insult to me for the comparison.

I'll admit to being a little sauced in that picture.

That is actually the car show where the guy that owned the chopped '50 Merc from "Gone in 60 seconds" had one of his cars burn to the ground in the parking lot during the flame show.

He was a member of my old club "The Rodfathers" in SoCal.

429...but yes, it was available in the '71 Mach 1, as well as the 2 351's, a pair of 302s and there was the Boss 351

In '72 the best motor was the slightly detuned boss motor that was carried over in a very small number of cars, and then the 351 4V such as the one in my dads car, another 351 also detuned, and a few 302's..

'73 was sad,,,even more detuned 351's, no boss carry over etc.

and yes, the '73's are ugly :-)

I say Terminator swap a 65/66 or a 67/78 (depending on your preference). Like engine, trans, IRS... the works. Except lose the damn heaton and go turbo. Then you're life will make sense again.
