Timing
#11
Well the reason why i said timing was because that's what i was told it could've been. I wasn't building the motor, it just has a cold air intake and some obx header's. The motor had over 150,000 miles on it. Guy at shop said i had some bad bearing's....basically the motor was wore out. New motor is in the car and will be ready monday.

If you weren't doing anything to the timing and you were not building the motor, what were you doing? Why the need to turn ity over by hand? Headers and CAI don't require that and would not the motor to blow up. Which bearing went bad?
Glad to here you got the new motor in. Any mods to it?

Dave the whole reason the word timing ever came up was because i blew a head gasket. I changed both gaskets while i was at it. I put it back together per timing instructions..turned it over by hand. When it locked up the crank timing marks was off, so i was told timing might have been off a little dont see how. The damage was to the crank bearing's and bottom end, when it blew the head gasket. Like i said the new motor is in now, the old one is history, this is the 1st car i've ever dealt with with this overhead stuff. So if anything else goes wrong to the shop it will go!!
