Default ABS light on.

on my 01 GT, the ABS light is always on, the ABS absolutely doesnt work, and the trac-0ff light is always lit, and also..definetly doesnt work.

I dont have a scanner yet, if I take the car ot Auto-Zone, will their free scan tool explain what needs to be replaced? Like wheel sensor, tone ring, something?

From my experience they will let you use one if your car is in the parking lot. Or u can deposit the value of the scan tool and take it.

I'm 99% sure its a speed sensor problem. I have it on my car too and thats what the problem is but I don't really care about it since I always turn traction control off anyways.

Is that an expensive fix?

Before we get too far ahead of ourselves here, TOMMY.... do you run different diameter tires between front/rear? If they are not all OEM size, please give us the sizes of front/rear (all three numbers please)

Some issues can come up via differential sized tires.

i actually had my ABS light turn on and traction control button trigger showing that traction control was off when i went on the highway the other day, i have 265/35/18 in front and 365/40/18 on the rear with 3.73 gears...i figured the tire size triggered a sensor because the ABS light and trac control button both turned off the next time i started the car

365/40-18? That is a big-*** tire! 28.6+ inches in diameter--19% bigger thasn the stock tires and 18% bigger than your the front tires --that will mess with the ABS' and t/c's minds...
