Default How to get a MEANER MUSCLE LOOK???

I'm continuing to build my wish list for the future and I'm pretty sure I want 10.5" rims on the rear. I looked at alot of customer pics on Americanmuscle and saw that the 315's on 10.5"s look awesome (width wise).

However, I still don't see that sleek MEAN muscle look. I think people call it rake. I'm a little nervous about potential damage (driving or otherwise) with lowering the front, but not against it. I was thinking my best bet was to either raise the rear somehow or get tall tires in the rear. But I've been told that isn't really how you do it.

So safety-wise and driveability-wise how do I achieve this?

I want to look similar to this...but not so low in the front:

And yes I saw that the car in the link doesn't sit like that and needed the coilovers adjusted... the picture just serves as the most exagerated version of what I'm looking for.

I have supersports in the rear and coilovers in the front and im pretty low I have no problems what so ever and most ppl here are lowered and have no problems y r u different? Raising the back would look retarded its already really high stock.

I'm not suggesting that I'm different. I just read some posts of guys lowering the front too much and bottoming out on certain bumps, damaging bumpers on roads and parking, and ruining their suspension.

I'm not unwilling to lower the front...just nervous (because of those things I read). That's why I'm asking the question. I'm fine with lowering the front as long as I can get enough encouragement from people who've done it and had no problems.

That would raise a second question then. If I had to chuck the thought of doing anything to the back...what do I do to the front to get that look? Do I need a certain tire or wheel? Are coilovers enough?

I'm sitting pretty low, 18x9s with 275/35/18s on the front and 18x10.5s with 315/30/18s on the rears and i have no issues at all with scraping or clearance, didn't even have to roll fenders for the tires like alot of people claim to need to. Occasionally theres a speedbump that i would think im gonna bottom out on but just hit it at an angle and go slow and you're fine. I would highly suggest that if you do drop it to get camber plates and a bumpsteer, my car just sticks in turns now and handles like a dream, doesn't handle ****ty like alot of people claim how lowered cars feel.

My car has that look somewhat. I have 17x9's in the front and 17x10.5's in the rear. BBK lowering springs. I think what makes a big difference is a chin spoiler though. Makes it seem like the front is lower then the rear. If im going down a very steep driveway and on to somewhat flat street, the front lip of the chin spoiler will rub a little bit on the ground. Every few months though I just sand it lightly, and no one can tell. Also, you may need to roll your rear fenders. It cut a small groove in the tread of the rear tires. Probably wont be an issue if no one sits in the back seat and dont "fly" over speed bumps.

Like this? Sitting on 18x9/10.5 AFS Cobra reps, lowered 2.5in in the back and 2.75 in the front. It will have a lip on it soon that will sit about 2 1/2 inches off the ground. No rubbing with my fenders at all, little bottoming out though. I was at a import meet and i had TONS of people checking out my car, so it must look pretty good haha.

Heres another pic from the rear. Rear tires are 315/30/18 Falkens

Tommy, i'm in a similar situation. I have the Eibach Pro Kit with 17x10.5's DD bullitts in the rear, chin spoiler, etc... but want more of a drop (especially in the front) and a slightly raked look as well. After doing a lot of research, and actually seeing in person, i pulled the trigger on some H&R Super Sports. For me they were the perfect compromise of an aggressive raked look without being slammed.

It also helps if you take out the iso's in the front and leave them in the rear.

Ok...I've been looking at what other people have done and I've seen some people going 17's in the front and 18's in the back. Most people seem to say if the side wall is the same size that it looks clean and still gives you that slanted look.

Then if I lower the front a bit I can get a nice, slighlty overboard, SICK raked muscle look. What do you all think?

I still want my rear tires to be wider though, 10" -10.5".

So what tire size combo can I safely go with to do 17's in the front and wide 18's in the back??? ...and still keep a similar sidewall height?
