Why did Ford replace the 5.0 to 4.6???

point well taken but the only thing they share is "5.0" it stops there its part of the mod family but that goes without saying. But if thats what makes you feel better boss then let that be your personal gospel. Th new 5.0 is a stock beast and its a total different beast than the old pushrod 5.0. not knocking them i love the sound of them but its a total dif beast design. mod/ pushrod rain/cloudy.

I think Ford was trying to move in a new direction with the improved modular engine, proving it's worthiness. You have to admit, look how many New Edge's were sold.
Just my 2 cents.

that the comparison of the legendary 5.0 from back in the day stops at the badge 5.0 bc its a total diff beast than the old pushrod engine. I was responding to the post that was right above mine I think i just forgot quote then respond.

ROFL seriously? If it aint broke dont fix it..
Ford has been using the OHC platform for 16 years now in a mustang, and they JUST NOW turned out a motor that doesnt need a blower to keep up with that "old" technology that GM is running.
The LS motors have been kicking *** and getting excellent gas mileage doing it... they have never needed to change the recipe..and I doubt they ever will.

Seriously.... yes LSX engines may be a great engine but it is still old and there are better ways to make more power without the need of massive disp... just look at european cars... I may be wrong but all new engines are not OHV... and they make great power with small disp engines...
Who cares if its old...its been kicking the crap out of cars with "superior" technology for damn near decades.
If it aint broke, dont fix it.
