Skyline vs GT
#21
Year of the Skyline does matter more than anything else in this off topic thread... The first gen Skylines knocked out a whopping 160 hp (about half that number for tq) and had a sedan option. And just because Nissan didn't sell them in the US doesn't mean they aren't here.

Haha yea, that actually is shocking! Which means you're gonna have to hire a tow truck from numedia. Lol if that burnout on the street didn't fry it, a hard launch on a sticky drag strip is gonna blow right through it.
Btw, I'm going to retract many of my statements because I just reread the op. If he's claiming stock and 430awhp, then kick his butt. That car makes no more than probably 270awhp if it's stock. If it's worked out, 430awhp is definitely possible with stock stuff in place. All he needs is an intake, o/r exhaust, and a boost controller/tune and that's it. But bone stock, nuh uh. Sorry guys for not reading.
Also, last time I checked the only people bragging about owning a first gen skyline is someone who has a lot of money and is a collector. The r32 skyline thru the r34 all had the same motor and made a Nissan claimed 270hp, but it was under rated at that number and real world made more around 320hp. Also there are other more specialized models that made high 300's/low 400's hp at the crank and one of the models made 450hp.

I think its a drivers race.
But those Skyline are quick B******.
I give the slight edge to the Skyline though.
Some of these imports are faster than what some people think.
Just my 2

If its a R32/R33/R34 then all bets are off. If its a GTR they all had RB26s or it could be a GTS with a RB26 swapped in. The skylines you say are getting walked over maybe GTS w/ RB25DETs or have real bad drivers. But a RB26 stock is no slouch. And its hard to find one unmodded. So if it has any mods, dont race him. Its possible its a RHD R35 that was snuck in to the U.S. If it is then definitely leave that a lone.
Unless the guy cant launch his AWD well or knows how to shift to keep it in boost the OPs screwed.
