Looking at a 2000 gt...
Been looking at a 2000 gt...looks pretty much stock...as daily driver/commuter vehicle. Been driving a 2005 4 door toyota tundra and was wondering 1) if anyone else has switched from driving a full size truck to a mustang gt and how they like the switch so far and 2) if there was much of a difference in your weekly/monthly gas bill. Just for reference I get about 330 miles out a tank of gas with my truck (25 gallon tank) and I have about a 20-25 mile commute to work every morning on the interstate. Also, the particular mustang I'm looking at has 83,471 miles on it according to the dealer's website and is asking $9,870. Obviously I wouldn't pay the asking price but was wondering if offering/paying $8,000 would be reasonable?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Been lurking for quite a while as I've always wanted a gt (had a 6 cylinder in high school) but never really had an opportunity to get one until now...plus driving a truck up and down the interstate every day when you're not hauling anything doesn't make too much sense either

The mileage is low enough for that model year to warrant about 6500 to 7000. But, if it is in EXECTIONAL condition, I would go about 7500. Just LOOK it over good. I like the color. I think it's Laser Red.

Well it looks like everyone has already covered the price issue.
As far as gas mileage goes it looks like you are getting about 13 mpg now (330miles/25gallons=13.2mpg). I average about 24-26 mpg on the highway, so that will be an improvement. It is a mustang, so obviously it isn't going to have nearly as much room as your truck.
Anyway, hope this helps and welcome.

Thanks for all the replies...seems that in the south (I actually live in Auburn, AL) mustangs are a little over priced...not sure why though. Have definitely been looking around though and yeah I know a mustang is much smaller than my truck but I wouldn't be completely getting rid of it and would have access to it if I really needed it.
