My Mustang's evolution (Lots of pics)

Swapping the cluster wasn't hard at all. Normally you are right, PATS will not let a new cluster be swapped in. Your theft light will blink constantly and the car won't start. You have to take it to Ford to have the correct mileage and vin programmed in for a hefty fee.
However, I simply switched the circuit boards! Since the gauges are physically identical to the GT gauges minus the font, it worked awesome.
Here is the writeup I used: http://www.mikefordmustang.com/write...mustang-gt.php
He used Bullitt gauges in the article but it is the same process. It'll work on any gauges with the 150 speedo. You can't use it on the Saleen or Cobra gauges, or on a sixxer though, sadly.

Awesome progress man and you actually may have helped me with an issue. I have a 00 gt with the cobra front bumper and am having the same issue as you at around 40 mph. Did you come up with a permanent solution for the opening?

Thank you sir!
Is your Mustang supercharged? My problem is I am running a draw through setup with the MAF in the fender well right after the air filter. Wind from the holes in the Cobra bumper was hitting the air filter directly (since it is located right behind my foglights), and causing the MAF to get crazy readings. I just bit the bullet and bought some Cobra fogs to install in the holes in the bumper. Problem has not been back since, plus they look cool!

yeah. i hadnt been on alot lately either. lol. i may be looking at getting back into a new edge. i kinda miss my old car. haha. i like my car. but im looking at an 04 gt with lots of stuff already done to it and its only got 37k miles compared to my 83k. plus its stick! which mine is not. mine also has bad road rash, door dings, and a few dents where people just dont respect my car. whereas the 04 is in perfect shape. i think id honestly be fine with the decrease in power considering that i dont even use my horsepower to the full potential anyway. lol. but i'll keep you updated.

Alright so once again I kind of dropped off the map. I seldom have time to get on here and update things, which I feel guilty about considering some of you guys don't know me from any other forums.
Long story short, the car has continued progressing. You are about to get 2 months work in a post or two lol.
For starters, the week after I bought the Treadstone, I had a some things come up and had to sell my Novi 1000 to pay bills.
The good news is that the blower went to a local guy that is doing a great job of installing it. I look forward to going to the track with him later this year!
With every closed door, another one opens, right?
Well I found this guy for a pretty good deal.
It is a Novi 2000 which is the big brother to my Novi 1k. This one isn't as pretty, but after some cleaning and love with steel wool, it looked alright!
The blower also came with an incomplete bracket setup.
At that point, I needed this:
* HPX PMAS MAF (Probably going a VMP housing)
* Tial 50mm BOV
* Piping with flange for Tial
* Donathen Racing bumper support
* CXR intercooler piping
* Misc parts for powerpipe
By the beginning of February, I had ordered everything but the BOV, MAF, and misc piping.
Around that same time, I called my local tuner asking for his services, and he wanted to treat my car like a Foxbody. Was asking what injectors the MAF was calibrated for and whatnot. Finally, I asked him if I could have a base tune, and he replied "Yeah, uh, I might be able to send you something that will make it start." It was going to be a 2 hour drive to meet this guy. At that point I was done.
I went with Joe at Trick Tuners a 3rd time, this time with the intention of remote dyno tuning. He had a base tune in my inbox within 45 minutes.

Once that stuff arrived, I had everything I need besides the BOV, flange, some AN fittings, and the powerpipe. Silicon Intakes was out of the parts I needed for the aluminum piping, so I had to wait there. I ordered everything else Monday.
Began tearing down the car for the intercooler install Friday night.
Donathen Racing bumper support is on.
Supercharger has began wearing Affliction T shirts, watching UFC, and drinking excessive quantities of cheap alcohol. Really need to get him out of the house.
Mocking up TRV25 intercooler.
Cut a hole in the fender and cut what piping I could:
I am going to take the car Friday to a friend that can weld, and make some intercooler mounts out of flat steel to be welded to the bumper support out of the 1/4" plate steel I found.
After that, the car can be torn all the way down and the supercharger can be bolted on the timing cover, injectors installed, etc. I am "hoping" to have the vast majority of the install down next weekend, but there is no telling how that will go.

Between the following Friday and Saturday morning, I got the intercooler mounted, piping cut and mounted, supercharger mounted, injectors changed out, and BOV mounted. Pics!
Parts pile is getting out of control.
Intercooler lined up for brackets to be welded.
BEAUTIFUL piece of American engineering. Huge thanks to JPC for this piece.
Piping mocked up.
Same.
Piping all cut and tightened down!
Same.
Got the supercharger mounted during this process lol.
How she sat that night.
Getting the IAC bung welded on this week hopefully. I also got the powerpipe made today. I need to bolt it all on now.
I need to get the 1/4" barb to 3/8" NPT (or something similar) to go into the plenum for the Tial to hook up to. Then I need to come up with some kind of adapter to go from the vacuum hose connecting to the catch can to the valve cover. I also have to cut down one of the brackets that the bumper support mounts to. The edge of it barley makes contact with a silicon coupler coming off of the IC, and I am afraid it will burst after time.
First start will be soon.
Also, had some small problems with the piping. See the attached pic for more info.

Then, this past weekend, I finished the powerpipe, got the brass fittings I needed for the PCV and BOV, loaded a base tune, and fired it up! Sadly I didn't take many pictures. I'll have to get a few of it though. I polished the intercooler piping and it looks beautiful considering I cut it in my garage floor with a saws-all lol.
Here is a pic of the semi-finished product:
I did 1 datalog and got another tune from Joe. LiveLink is giving me fits though. It never has given me a problem in the past. On Joe's recommendation, I went from Gen II to LiveLink 6.5, and it seems to run a little smoother. Time will tell though.
Here is a video of the base tune at idle. I tried to take a startup video, but the blow off valve blew the camera over lol. Also scared the daylights out of me.
To do:
*fab bracket for fan resister to mount to.
*Double check clamps
*Re-install bumper.
As for 3/2/14 you are now up to speed!
