Why do you own an SN95?

You seem annoyed by the use of it... FYI, It annoys me that non-hatch fox bodies are called NOTCH, that wasn't the official term used, they were marketed as SEDANS on the window sticker, so when I hear notch I get annoyed.

Well, I DO have an S197, but I looked for an SN95 first. I would have loved to have found a good 98 Cobra, but I needed to get something quick, and I wanted to get back into a Mustang, so I settled on the 06, which don't get me wrong, I do love.
I think SN95's get a bad rap. You see too many POS beat up ugly *** SN95s rolling around, so the general consensus non-Mustang people and even some Mustang people have is that they don't like them as much or they are uglier. On the contrary, I LOVE the look of a clean, tastefully modded SN95.
I still hold out the dream of finding a nice Bright Atlantic Blue 98 Cobra one day. I think that rates right below a 69 Mach as my favorite Mustang of all time.

It was affordable at the time, one owner with low mileage. But the main thing was I needed a car with a long large door to get my wheelchair in. It was the 1st year of my injury and a mustang fit the bill. No regrets buying it, in fact I love the car and don't plan to sell it.

Why is this simple comment so hard for people to understand? I know what I said and I said what I meant. Because I intentionally meant that the 99-04 models are still very popular and you still see them everywhere. So I said New Edge because I meant to leave the earlier version of SN95s out of that observation as they are not as common anymore. Let me try again:
99-04 SN95s are still a dime a dozen.
Is that better? Jeez people.

I didn't realize the SN95s were built on the Foxbody platform. But you're right, I've only ever heard the 79-93s referred to as 'Foxbody'...

In '06 I wanted a fun V8 that wasn't too old for under $6000. I was 20 and in college. When I started working full time after college I bought a truck and this became my fun/nice weather car. In a couple years I plan on getting a '11+ GT or maybe even V6. Depends on how I feel then and where I'm at money wise. I didn't really like the s197s until the latest model which I love.

That is because the 79-93 are the fox body chassis, and the 94-04 cars are on the SN95 chassis. They do share some parts - like similar suspension, seat tracks etc.... They are not officially the same chassis.
FWIW - Mustangs are not the only "fox chassis" cars from Ford.

I've been reading up on it and I've found info that supports his statement that SN95s are built on the Fox platform. And like you say, it was apparently partly changed , and initially called Fox-4. It's not the same Fox platform as from before, but it seems it was still considered 'a' Fox platform. So I guess either statement is correct, it could be considered a Fox platform or an SN95 platform and either term could be right...
