Default anyone want to see carnage photos?

So i went through all the bs supercharging my car, only to run into one problem after another with my fueling system. I finally get it figured out and the car made 360 rwhp@7.75 psi number sounds a bit low for a 3.33 pullie fmic and what not, but my tuner is apparently known for low numbers on paper but high traps at the track ( in other words he cares about making the car as fast as he can, not about what the paper says when hes done) Anyway i found that to be true, since before my final tune with the fixed fuel system i went racing and i had reduced rpm had to shift at 5700? and only 350rwhp and a huge drop in torque over 5200 due to fueling but i still trapped almost 116. ANYWHO never got the final rune to the track, because it lasted 2 days. apparently my fuel level sensor wasnt terribly accurate because i was hot ******* it with my cousin and had a hard miss at 5500 rpm that felt like i slammed the brakes on. well after looking around i found the plugs were white from being lean and that likely i had a detonation issue, but car seemed to be working ok after i checked it. so i drove it again, worked fine for like 5 miles, then sounded like i had a spun bearing. long story short i drove it a total of 15 miles after the miss, and it basically went from ok to flat out broken now its apart and heres the results thus far! all ive seen so far is that the damage seemed to all be in number 1, and even the cylinder wall made out ok.

Wow. It kinda looks like the block is giving you "the finger" haha. I have no idea how that happened but good luck figuring it out.

I'm sorry to hear that man... On the plus side gentlemen, you can rebuild it. You have the technology. Better than it was before. Better, stronger, faster.

First and formost that sucks man sorry to hear, but I don't quite understand what that means, theres no way to make the numbers on paper lower and the car faster, they run hand and hand. Sounds like to me there was some issues with your tune and more or less wasn't on the safe side.

He is just talking about having a dyno that reads low. Deceptively low dyno numbers so that a car making 350rwhp on his dyno is actually a 400rwhp car on a different dyno.

thanks for the support, and yes i will be making it faster, stronger, better, more expensive, less fuel effiecent, ect that can go on for a while...lol Anyway at this point i dont feel it had anything to do with the tune, i think i didnt have enough fuel in the car, which is a gt tank and twin stealth 340s in it...so i think i just caught air, was lucky not to damage the pump too, cuz those aren't cheep. im moving on to a 5.0 mmr stroker street mod 1000s. currently ill probably be stuck with factory heads and cams due to money, but it will give me a bullet proof bottom on which to push as much boost as the si trim will allow. may not produce the highest numbers but should be over 500 rwhp, just at like 18-20 psi... in any case faster than 350 rwhp allowed. this time ill ask the tuner to just make it super safe, since last time i just told him to wring the crap out of it as much as he felt comfortable doing.

edit: my 60 foot time on the 12.40 was 1.90. also anyone know how the thrust bearing managed to come out? any ideas?

i didnt know that...guess ill avoid that haha. i would worry about whether or not their quality is any good, but i get the feeling reading these reviews(that includes a lot of motor building companys, they all have issues) that most of the issues are in the engine build itself not the parts, and since i build my own motor im not worried about poor assembly. Although i have been thinking about sending it to a local performance shop. But id much rather do local than across the country.

Not to hijack your thread, but figured I'd pile on.

I was on a roadtrip through Kansas and ran across an SVT transport vehicle that had overturned. HEre are some shots. Several SVT mustangs and Raptors lost...

t-56 swap.

which by the way better to get that out of the way soon rather than later, because it slows the car down a lot...

Heavier transmission plus longer gearing... Depends on what numbers you are making of course but for a lower hp car the T56 will give you a slower time.

for a faster car the t-56 slows you down too, its more parasitic loss, coming from heavier transmission and more gears. Now that being said you can probably gear it in certain ways to reduce what you lose, but bottom line you will have less to the wheels. Get used to it now you wont hate it laterssss... lol example: I lost .4 on the quater mile time and 2ish mph on my na set up. My buddy has a turbo stroker fox, he put in the big boy t-56 from d and d i believe and he lost .2 in the quarter, dont remember the mph. Power doesnt matter just sucks more of it up so the more you have the less you care. i cared when it was NA but then i went 12.4 with it and an sc and honestly if i coulda run an 11.9 with the 5 speed great, but i was happy with 12.4 haha
