Default high stall TC first impressions?

What was your first impression after you got a high stall converter (3k or more)?

Just about to get a converter (after gear install/exhaust cut outs) but I am wondering if I should spend the $1,700 ( including TC,shipping, install, tune) on something else.

I may also be running a special tire/rim combo for race nights, say micky thompson drag radials on 16s or so...

Completely transformed my launch! I get 1.50 - 165 short times on stock suspension!

TC is a great mod.

seriously considering getting the 3.73s over the 4.10s while mating it up with a nice high stall conveter. I got what Bama said about prefering the 3.73 over the 4.10s stuck in my mind after chatting about it with him a few months ago...he really dislikes how it shifts, something like it feels like it jumps from 1-3 or something like that..
