Angry exhaust leak at collector

I recently installed an O/R H from pypes and have a wicked exhaust leak at the collector. I have tightened the bolts at the collector as tight as I can and for some reason it's still leaking.

I remember the fox body mustang had a "donut" gasket at the collector. I haven't seen such thing either with the kit or off of the factory H pipe.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Had the same problem...One question though...Did you get the two inner sleeves with your o/r h pipe? If not it will leak like crazy!!! I have an older 2pc H that I bought used until on this site someone was asking what these little sleeves where and I knew it was Pypes's fix for the nasty flare job on the pipe where it meets the manifold. I called them up told them what the problem was and they shipped a pair out..no cost!! Slapped them in and NO LEAK. Hope this helps ya.. I will try and send the link with photos for better look.

Installed the sleeves and all is well. The leak was my fault. Has anyone welded up the four piece H and had problems with it?

Welded mine after I originally just used the crappy clamp. Leaked like hell. Weld it up, just use stainless rod or do what I did, have someone else weld it off the car. Just make sure to scribe both halves at the "H" before you remove it from the car so its welded up in the same position. Good luck!

off topic, but can you weld a two piece H while it's on the car? I'm sure you can't, but I'm getting my setup installed today and the shop told me they don't weld. So I'm guessing it's gunna leak...

It will leak, no doubt about. You will will hear it and feel it huffing on your hand by placing your hand close to it when running..Careful VERY HOT. Mine is a 2pc design and welded mine off the car. Not a welder but it could be done on the car but very easy off the car and you'll get a better weld. my 2 cents
