Which Canned Tune To Go With
#12
I had a brenspeed tune, didnt like it. Had a hanfing idle and it felt OK at best. Switched to BBR and was amazed, felt like a whole new car, pulls alot harder.

Really? Thats interesting. How long did it take them to send you your tune? I want it asap. I'm going to order the tune in the morning fellas. Any comments between now and then is appreciated...

lol not sure how much shopping around I did. I ended up going with the first place I called this morning, BlowbyRacing. The guy seemed very informative and said he has tuned a lot of strokers. He said since I had low compression (9:1 for future boost again) i would loose a little power. He said somewhere in the neighborhood of 350rwhp which is fine for now. I'm going out of town for a couple weeks so im leaving to car with my father, so i'll let you guys know how the tune feels once I get back. Wish me luck. I hope the tune feels good....

On a side note, I got 3 tunes. One with the stock airbox for smogging. The other with the Steeda Intake. an 87 and 91 octane tune. 87 for daily driving and 91 for track. I was amazed on how fast he got the tune done. I ordered at 630 am and had the tune before lunchtime. =)
Haven't felt the tune but seemed to be top notch customer service. 3 tunes for $125.00

So none of the tunes worked. When I tried loading them into my car my car went into fail safe mode. Funny when I went back to the stock tune the car didn't go into fail safe mode. I'm going to just take my car to a dynoshop. I paid 125$ for nothing.

I called BBR and they said it was a throttle body problem, swopped a throttle body off of a different (working) mustang and I still got a fail safe mode error. Then they said to disconnect the battery for 20 minutes and try it. Still didn't work. Then they wanted to try to alter the tune but I don't really have time to go back and forth with them. =(

So to be fair, it probably wasn't a tune problem from BBR. My cars computer was full of water and thats why it went into fail safe mode. I'm having some electrical issues after the motor swop. Unfortantely I had to take my car to a dynoshop to figure this out. I might not be able to give a review of BBR's tunes. On a bright note (other than spending more money) i'll end up with a dyno tune and HP numbers....
