Just replaced sparkplugs
I just finished replacing the plugs on my 2007 GT. The car currently has 26,000 miles, far short of the 100,000 miles it's supposed to go before needing a plug change, yet what I found made me doubt they would have made it there.
I had taken the plugs out at 10,000 miles to put Motorcraft XL2 HIGH Temperature Nickel Anti-Seize Lubricant and dielectric grease on them so I wasn't worried about the plugs breaking. They came out very easily, what really worried me a little was the condition of the plugs.
The sparkplugs looked pretty beat up and the gap on the electrodes was huge. My gauge only went to .045, but even then there was a lot of room to wiggle it up and down, so it was waaay over .045.
I replaced them with Champion 7989 plugs gapped at .045. The car idles much better now and the throttle response seems snappier. Before it would accelerate slowly at first then speed up considerably, sort of turbo lag-like. Now it's very smooth.
I've read some posts where people recommend gapping them smaller, is there an advantage to that on a NA car?

So thanks for everything folks! I got the link for the TB on this website, and I followed the PB Blaster idea.
I recommend blowing off the boots with compressed air BEFORE you pull them. I shot them with PB waited 30 min turned them an 1/8 to a 1/4 turn shot then again with PB waited 30 min and then made part of a turn to lossen, then 1/2 of that back again.
I got all 8 out! I was sweating it! I changed them at 90,309. I used Champions also.
