Timing chain

Default Timing chain

From past experience, I know that some Fords require changing the timing chain once the vehicle passes 90K miles. Does that hold true for a Mustang GT '06 model year? I have almost 87K on my ride and I would like to know. By the way, these were, and are, great 87K miles!!

not usually. the chains and guides are good far longer than that.

Doing the timing chains is a pretty big job. When you decide to take the plunge I recommend you get this kit from Ford Racing. Comes with everything you need including new Cam Phasers and Phaser Bolts (old picture when I bought the kit it did not include the phaser bolts) Part number, M-6004-463V
