Default '87 LX 2.3, no fuel

Recently purchased 1987 LX conv. w/2.3. Has sat unstarted for 5 yrs. New fuel pump and fuel tank replaced due to sediment 7 yrs. ago. Ran perfect for 2 yrs, then put on blocks and stored till my purchase. Car has excellent maint. records prior to storage. When trying to start, engine will run only as long as starting fluid, carb cleaner, etc. is being sprayed into intake tube. Runs nicely, but stops as soon as spray stops. Checked inertia switch in trunk, pushed button, but no effect. Can't hear fuel pump running when key is turned on but that may be normal. Checked fuses, but don't know if there's a fusible link for the fuel pump. Any help would be appreciated. Right now, wife is steamed I bought a non-running car. HELP!!!

Check to make sure the fuel pump is getting power, if it is the pump is dead, if not then check the relay under the drivers seat, or the wiring

I would check the power to the pump...but, does sound like a fuel pump issue...how long has it sat?
