it will fit under the hood, but the rotated intake may cause clearance issues with the alternator so you may have to modify the bracket (i think) or rotate the intake even more.

Hi guys, i'm from Australia but i got hold of one of these motors which i think you are talking about. Mine is out of a 85 thunderbird turbo coupe, its a 2.3L efi turbo. And im having trouble fitting it in and i might need to move the alternator. So this bracket you guys are talking about to move it onto the otherside of the motor. Would it fit on my motor and work, and what car is it out of and year model and do i just need the bracket?

Thanks heaps,
Aaron

Yeah its a 72 mk1 2 door. And I imported the thunderbird out here to get the motor out of to use. Its a very tight fit but its in there now. Just gotta finish hooking up.

This is a stupid question, but why would one have to rotate their intake, going turbo?

when using a front mount intercooler, a rotated intake will save quite a few bends in intercooler piping which will make it flow better. it also protects intercooled air from the heat generated by the turbo and exhaust because you dont have to route it all the way back around to the throttle body
