Default Why is my exhaust manifold glowing red

I only drove the car for about 5 minutes, I did get on it a little but not over 5k. I smelt burning andI thought the breather popped off the valve cover. I pulled over and my exhaust manifold was fglowing red WTF. Anyone have an idea, it is a 2.3 turbo.

A lot of people have glowing manifolds. It could be timing, lean, rich. If you can, pull codes or search on TF about the issue (I'm sure you don't have one though)

Does it still have a have the exhaust convertor in it. Drop exhaust off turbo. And see if does better. Pipe maybe stopped up. Old trick potatoe in exhaust pipe.

It still ran as good as always, I'mstumped. I noticed valve cover gasket was leaking, could oil on the manifold make it glowing red? I don't think so

The oil would make it smoke but the glowing I'm sure is fine
