if you dont want any problems just save your money, sell your 4cyl and buy a v8 car.
But, you should check craigs list or local classifieds for engines. your looking at about 500 for a complete engine. but you will also need a v8 tranny, and most likely upgrade your rear end to a 8.8.

a donor car is probably going to be your cheapest route. You're going to need more than just the engine... you'll need the electronics, fuel system parts, & transmission aswell.
I'd say your best bet is to find an old beat up mark vii or something like that. That's what i've always done. I've got one for $150 & another for $200 both with good running engines (one had a bad rear seal that slowly leaked oil) & transmissions. I just used the computer & wiring harness out of them. Granted it did need slightly modified.

price of the car, had to buy a little bit of rubber hose, on one setup i had to buy an engine mount (one was beyond bad) & some wire. About an extra $50 per car after the price of the donor. Driveshafts were different lengths I cut & rewelded it myself.

waterpump gasket is leaking tho,... its in Grandy, North Carolina.
130K miles... runs like new... just leaks coolant slowly... just started leaking yesterday tho.
moving so i must sell it.
it also has the 8.8 rear end.. and everything you need for a 5 lug swap!

Yeah your gonna need other parts other then the engine itself. Like everyone is saying find a wrecked 5.0 and use it as a donor car. You will need trans, driveline, motor, suspension (or keep the 4 banger springs), the 5.0 front brakes, rear-end, reroute fuel lines if you want dual exhaust, and adouble hump crossmember.
You can either search junkyards for weeks or months to gather all the parts or just find a wrecked 5.0 and use all of those parts to do the swap.
But best bet is to just sell the 4 banger and save up a little and get a 5.0 stang all together.
