Default help with a 1992 4cyl exhaust

hi, i had posted in a old thread of mine, but decided its probably have a different thread, seeing as the other was for turbo swap stuff. so, im thinking its time to replace the exhaust. seems pretty rusted from the cats back. now, is it possible to do a dual exhaust from the cats back? and will that give me enough back pressure? might just do a single flow 40 or 44, with a turn down. but would rather do a dual . and, plan is to leave the stock front exhause for now, and change it when i do the turbo swap. thanks!

that much i knew. lol. but, say i bought a GT system. would just the 1 side bolt up? and what would you suggest? getting a cheap 1.5'' catback, and having a shop make a y to install it, or just have a shop install a new muffler/tip. and if i dont go dual, its just gonna be a turn down.

you know what, screw it. im just gonna cut the stocker off and clamp in a Flow 40 or 44 for now and a turn down. and save the coin for the nice 3'' when get around to doing the swap.

No a Gt system wont bolt up because it's designed differently (will bolt up if you cut the driver tube off, and are running a manual transmission.)

Also minimum 2" system for a 2.3 N/A

ok, buddy just gace me the dimensions. its 2.5'' in/out, and 4x9x14. and i think the stock pipe is only 2''
so, maybe i just clamp it in, and do a turn down right after?

you might get an exhaust leak with that just clamped like that. Take it to a shop and see what they can do with it. Maybe they can bend the the in/out on the muffler and weld it. They would make a better seal than a clamp...My two cents.

if you just wanna clamp it in autozone or oreilly's should have exhaust adapters that allow you to do that. that's what i used when we swapped a 5.0 into my 76. the mufflers we had taken from the parts car where 2.5" and the tubing we had was 2 and 1/4" so we just bought four of those and clamped them on each end of the mufflers til i got exhaust run
