So here are a few pics of the turbo I have. Like I said, it looks similar, but it has some different marking on it too. Any idea on what this is would help me out greatly!

Not sure, but I know it's not a T3 and it's definitely not the one you want! The photo's kinda blurry but an a/r of 89?! Wow! That's lots of air intake! Judging by the double outlet flanges, I'd surmise it's for a V8. Check www.turboford.net in the 'For Sale' section and watch Ebay for the proper turbo.

ok, and I have another concern that needs addressing as well. Will i be able to use the structural pieces out of the tc for my swap, like the pedal assembly, transmission cross member, etc? And also, my mustang is currently automatic, i will be swapping in the 5-peed manual. Are either of those drive shafts (either the one i have in the mustang now or the one out of the turbo coupe) going to work with this application, or am i going to have to hunt one of those down too?

auto and manual d/s are the same for a mustang so just reuse your stock one. im sure you can adapt the pedal assembly to the mustang(although the tbird setup is hydraulic you should be able to get it all in place)

you can reuse your stock cross member by busting the spot welds on it to move it back to fit the t5. idk if the tbird will work but since its a fox i would have to assume it does

no, an auto D/S wont work on a manual transmission, heres a picture of the two (2.3 auto and 2.3 manual)

Cool

Go to your local Pick-n-Pull and grab a Mustang 5-speed driveshaft and tranny x-member. The TC pedal assembly will work. The TC has a plate at the base of the steering column that mounts the slave cylinder, IIRC. Don't get rid of your TC donor until the Mustang is completed. You'll constantly find stuff you can use or adapt, not to mention a ton of the correct fasteners!
Last year I sold a complete conversion assembly out of my '88 TC parts car. The guy was gonna swap it into a Mustang. Here's pics of all the parts that you need

I'm using a 2.3 N/A T5 with a 8.5" clutch.

They are good till about 300 hp then the start killing gears off unless you beef them up with 5.0 parts...

stingers 10s car was with a T5 from a 5.0 (stock 5.0 tranny)
