When I leave my car for second more than like 30 seconds or downshift into it comes out of second it just pops out and doesnt like to be put back in.

Mine used to do it while it was in 4th...used to untill i got it rebuilt. Mine went out, and yours probably will also. I dont know much about trans, but it sounds like your synchros are going out, well thats what happened to me. I was going down the freeway, and the trans locked up...anyways, if you have the money to get it rebuilt, do it, or just wait for it to go out and get a tremec

Synchros are bad. Does it pop out of gear if you hammer it in second?

its not reall when i hammer it down but if i downshift to second or if i leave it in for a while and not goin real fast

what do you mean trans locked up? when that happens are you just driving at freeway speeds and your back tires lock up? give me some details so i know if i'll die or not when it happens to me lol

well its kinda a funny story really...I was driving on the freeway trying to clean out my cats cause my car would not pass emissions. I got on the freeway heading back home, and i was at WOT...when i shifted into 2nd, the car kinda stopped, and then went back to how it usually drives..so i got back up to freeway speed in 5th, and crused. About 5 min later, i hear this CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK comeing from under the car, dident think much of it till i tried to downshift. I had to litterally pull the shifter out of fifth, then when i tried to go back into a gear, no go, i was in neutral down the interstate. I jabbed it into 4th after some swearing and grinding, and drove the whole back home in 4th...When i fiannly had to stop, it was no good. If the shifter was in neutral, it would act like it was in first, aka tow her home lol. Anyways, I dont think that it will just lock up on you, but i am no mechanic so i dunno. get her repaired, get a tremec, or learn how to double clutch
