Default New Chip

Am I going to need to get a new chip if say i changed to 24# injectors, 75mm maf 70mm tb and a better flowing intake?
or can it be run fine without buying the chip...
id rather get that stuff on for now, then finish buying the rest of my parts for my car.

then yank the engine and plop everything on at once, so i dont have to buy a chip now
and one for completed engine.

i would say no on gettin a chip, ive heard the only good chips are custom burned ones. and you should only get one of these when ur done doing performance mods. they can be pricey though.

89 Gt, cobra upper/lower, 65mm tb, e 303 cam, 3:73 gears, h pipe, headers, ac elimn, smog elimn, flowmasters, many more mods.

yea i know its a good idea to get one made after u finish modding your engine
but will it be run-able without it, with those mods?

Default RE: New Chip

I have a question regarding the use of chips and MAFs. My car is a 95 GT modded as follows: full exhaust, pulleys, 24# injectors, 65mm TB, SVO intake, B303 cam, adj. fuel pressure reg. My car currently has a chip in it. It barely runs without it. The car runs good with the chip in and has lots of power. My question is, should I put a MAF in and remove the chip and would this give me more power than my current set up or just leave the car alone.

thanks

You get a MAF that is calibrated for the new 24 injectors. Just ask for a MAF that is calibrated for 24 pound injectors..

as long as i have that 24# MAF made for 24# injectors
i WONT need a new chip?
I REALLY hope this is what you're saying

because this would make me much happier instead of wasting some Much Buxx for a chip im only gonna have in there for a few months

Thats exactly what I'm saying. A chip only helps when youve got a high profile cam and heads. It changes your air/fuel mixture for more power..

Still, the computer should correct for the cam just fine,. your idle might be a bit iffy but not bad at all... Don't get a chip burned until your don'e with the car and know what your doing with it. The chip will set you back a couple hundred and only take advantage of free-er flowing parts.
