A question for you 'Stangers!!!
So I get to work today...and I'm bull****ting with this guy. We end up talking about cars (of course). Then to MY car. I tell him my big plans with the car and all that jazz. So he says..."Why?". At first I was offended...thinking "what's it to ya, buddy?". Then my brain took over and I thought about it. I don't do it to be different...because everyone mods their cars. Do I do it because I want to go fast? Do I do it because I want to say "I did that"? So my answer was..."Pride".
So...onto the question for you fellers/womens. Why do you mod your car?

I do all of the work to my stang my self, engine building, trans rebuild, rearend rebuild, everything. And yes it is a pride thing. I love to work on it and I love to drive it. To me the best reward is the sound of the engine, it is music to my ears.

Alot of it really is pride though... If you take your car to the track and you run 12.25 but you want to get into the 11's. Your not going to feel the difference in two cars if one ran 12.25 and if one ran 11.99. SOOOOO why? Becuase than you get to tell people you have an 11 second car!! Its a little bit of everything.... fun factor, speed, pride, attention, etc.

lol I've been thinking about this two. Whenever I tell someone I'm modding my car they ask "why? why do you need to go fast? where you gonna go fast? whats the point?"
I really have no answer, its just a feeling of respect you get when people ask about your car. I, personally can't stand having a car slower than any of my friends. I guess it might just be an insecurity issue lol.
One of my favorite reasons for owning a 5.0, is the respect issue. I tmay nto be as fast as alot of expensive cars, but when another car guy sees you driving one, they KNOW, you know your **** about cars. You're nto just another ricer, or mullet domestic driver. They know that you specifically chose the 5.0 as your car to drive, and for good reason.
The other day I was at a stoplight and a Dodge Viper comes driving the other way. I see(and hear) him coming. I glance over and see what a sweet ride it is. (looks modified) He notices my car and gives me a thumbs up. Now this may nto seem like such a big deal, but my car is far from cosmetically beautiful, and this guy in is 80K+ car is giving me props on my $2,500 car.
Thats what it means to be a 5.0 owner in my book[8D]
