msd ignition control box

Default msd ignition control box

i just re installed a msd 6al ignition box. i can start the car and let it run for a few minutes then it kills. ill have to wait about 10 min. before trying to start it again because after it kills it wont start. it will turn over but wont start. sny ideas on how to fix the problem?

Try unplugging it at the coil and put the stock harness for the coil on and see what happens.

sounds like your MSD box is on its way out... they do that when they overheat

where is yours installed... engine bay?

chances are the box went bad... MSD actually recommends NOT installing it in the engine bay as they are suseptable to damage from engine heat

call them up.. they do a refurbishment service

passenger side underseat or behind radio?....mine is where battery used to be...never had a problem

It sounds liek your coil is fried. Heats up expands looses connection, etc. The thing is with the MSD your supposed to use ONLY the msd coil. On my buddies stang his coil actually exploded.....swear to god it was louder than a shotgun goin off, took the module with it.
