I love driving my car hard, but rarely do it for fear that I'll break it. Funny thing is, my definition of "hard" is probably far gentler than most people's. Maybe one day, I'll learn to trust the ruggedness of the 5.0.

I dont have that problem... I treat my Intrepid like its a indistructable tank that goes 100mph lol. Maybe thats why I already blew a motor and had to have trans work done

After all that work I dont beat on it anymore though... now I know what the consequences are

Funny thing is, when I was 16, I had a '73 superbeetle that wouldn't pass inspection because it was rotted out. So I decided to thrash it into the ground until the old inspection expired. I would ride it down a long hill with the pedal to the floor in first gear. I would shift without the clutch because I liked the grinding sound. Everytime I took off, I'd just put the pedal to the floor, look at my watch for a moment, and then sidestep the clutch. I did this for a month--everyday for hours. Even let a couple of friends romp the thing. Guess what. I couldn't break it. In fact, the only result that came about from doing this was that the car ran better when I finally sold it to the gypsies for $50. Since then, with every vehicle I've owned, I've thought about that little **** of a beetle, and wondered: Is this vehicle as tough as that old Bug?

It's sorta a special suituation for me. I only get my stang out for a day or two every two months. I sorta get it all out of me and lock it down in the gararage. haha. It only got 65,000 miles on it so I figure it can handle some beating. After i did break stands today and dounuts i left the patch hitting 6 grand and I have to say I feel a bit guilty after i am done but it is so dam fun!

the one thing that borthered me today was doing 180's and the tire hopping. Are 5.0 axels extra durable?
