No there isn't a tech artical on timing...You will need a timing light. If you have a timing light or can get one, we can tell you how to do it.

Do you guys think if I get a k&N filter for the stock airbox it'll be as good as getting one of those big chrome kits? The stock airbox and aftermarket ones go to the same spot so I figured going with just a k&N filter in the stock airbox would be okay. what do you all think?

Yes, the stock intake w/ a k&n would be fine. There is really no advantage to having a chrome intake.... but you up your pimp points...

So I finally got the car home tonight. I've already spent $100 on new parts for the car:

Dist cap and rotor
two hatch struts
1 new headlight bulb and 4 new small bulbs
duplicated keys
OEM Radio removal tool (tried clothes hanger but didn't work)
Chilton service and repair manual

Tommarow I still need to go back out and get two bulbs for the front blinkers and two reverse light bulbs. after that I will be good to cruise!

ALSO, Ill work on getting pics of it up tommarow

oh yeah and I also found out i have a small motor oil leak somewhere, any ideas?

I've got a 2.3 and it leaked really bad but the valve cover was just loose. That fixed it so maybe you'll get lucky with the same issue. Try tightening your valve covers.

okay some problems i've got already:

1.) Some wierd rattling noise while driving, it seems to be based on my wheel speed. it has that "rock shacken in a tin can" sound to it, and its only while the car is moving so it has nothing to do with RPM. It is only heard from outside the car.

2.) whenever I go hard on the throttle these awful fumes come into the car, it makes me cough really bad. it doesn't really smell like gas or exhaust, kind of a mixture almost, but i've never smelt anything like it. Any ideas on this?

3.) my headlights point in all sorts of wierd directions, any idea on how to fix that?

4.) randomly my "low coolant" light will come on and off. There appears to be no coolant in the reservoir and I think that is exactly the problem, but who knows. the light came on so I pulled over and turned off the car, waited 5 mins, then turned the car back on and it was gone and never came back on for the rest of the night.
