I disconnected the cable it registers, .99 at idle, 4.6 at wot .

I understand the tables of acceptance are .99-1.27 idle low and 4.5 -4.7 wot , in the A9P processor.
The eec will accept .6v to 1.2v if I remember right.
WOT is then a set voltage above the idle voltage.

It sounds like you have a firm grasp on the mechanical problem, I just wanted to clarify the voltage range as it is an area of confusion.

So with the cable off, your tps registers wot voltage now?

4.6 may be all you see. It def seems like a mechanical problem.

this is a simple fix. i had this issue when i first got my pms. it wouldnt register wot in the pms cause the damn cable was so f*cking long the tb wasnt opening all the way.

i have a fox body like you so the plans in this link arent exactly for our cars but you can adapt the idea http://mustangworld.com/ourpics/fcar/99pedals.htm

after doing this mod i was getting about 4.7v at wot and the gas pedle sits even with brake, when before the gas peddle is practically on the floor before you even step on it. what i did exactly is i pulled all the slack out (there is alittle ball at the end of the cable). i folded the line over and stuck a few zip ties on it to hold it folded over. i used 3 zip ties to be exact. works great, no more saggy peddle

I know it sounds dumb but I've seen a floor mat get bunched up under the gas pedal, pedal assy bent, throttle bracket bent... good luck
