Default Value of car

I have a 1986 Mustang GT Hatchback .K so insurance company totalled my car for hail. long story short they said i would get $5044.41 for it. But I could do a buy back for $1600. The car has dents on the hood, roof, fenders, nose clip, driver door, passenger door, hatch, left rear quarter, right rear quarter, spoiler, bumper, and the windshield is smashed. So bassically the exterior is junk in the condition it is. The interior is quite nice. Almost like new. The engine has this done to it.
1968 302 block bored .40 over
Flat top pistons
351 windsor heads w/ 2.02"/1.60" stainless valves
ARP Studs
ARP guide plates
Comp push rods
Comp retainers
Comp Cam
BBK underdrive pullies
March aluminum power steering pulley
Stock EFI System off 86 GT Mustang

then with this:
BBK shorty headers
2.5" H-Pipe,
Flow Masters

then with this:
5 speed transmission with newer centerforce dual friction clutch

I could pull dents out of the car over the winter and put the engine in a new mustang roller car. But is the buy back worth the money? Also how much could i get for parting out the car say i buy it back. Please respond asap cause i only have like 2 days before i have to decide whether or not to buy it back. Thanks so much, Nathan

for that amount of money, it is definitely worth it to do the buy back and just buy a roller or even a descent mustang put your drivetrain in it and sale what you don't use. You'll probably make your money back

5044 sounds about right, the only way that you would get more is by selling it to a fellow enthusiast otherwise it's only worth bluebook even w/ what you have done to it. that's why I say that it would be worth it to buy back and transplant.

not much.... nobody is gonna wanna put the money into the body to fix it. Just buy it back and use it as a parts car. take the other $3500 or so that you have a find a nice rolling chassis. youll probably still have money left over too
