Dude if the price is right and you like it get it!! Its a Mustang for pete sakes!! If 10 hp is that big of a deal!!! Then you need to buy a 04 Cobra dude cause nothing gonna make u happy. Just get it and ignore peoples remarks about a 10Hp.. If you want a drag car then build one if you want a Mustang that looks nice that you like then get the body style you like.

Fast, slow, it's all relative. I doubt most of the people out here could tell by the seat of their pants the difference between 300 ft-lbs and 285 ft-lbs anyway. Nomo must have gotten a lemon from the factory in the first place or his expectations were too high in the first place. Go for the 5.0 and you won't be sorry. Just put the car on a diet and lose some dead weight and put in some gears and a few other mods and you'll be plenty fast enough!

After a gear install you should be in pretty decent shape. If your goal is to have a performance oriented car that can beat most production cars off the line then you should be in good shape. I'd steer clear of 350's, G35's and supras, else you may find yourself dropping some serious cash on performance upgrades. But hey, that's wwhy your looking at the 5.0 right ease and availibility of mods? Have fun! I recommend going the route I went, suspension and brakes first, then power adders.
My 95 was a death trap before suspension and brakes, all engine with nothing holding it on the ground or anything to stop it from rear ending slow drivers. Much better now though.

RE: 94-95 5.0 Slow?
In only certain cases can I see a 5.0 loosing to a v6 camaro. From '96+s in the 3.8L camaro certain models came equipped with the Y87 package which included dual exhaust and 3.42 gears. In 2000+ models, there was a slight change in the manifolds but nothing major. These cars stock will run about a 15.4 or a 15.3 if that in an auto. Correct me if i'm wrong but I beleive the Y87 was only offered in the autos and that the manuals all came with 3.23 gears. I could be wrong on that one. Add a high flow cat w/ catback exhaust and a good intake it will struggle to see 14.9 or 14.8. I'm sure you guys don't want me to sit here and go on about it, but basically there are a dime a dozen of modded Y87 packaged v6 camaros that might give a stock GT a run for it's money. Not all v6 camaros will kill a 5.0 gt, lol. Me being a previous owner of one and a owner of a 5.0, how many guys really go too far into modding their v6 camaro or firebird and how many guys really only have a completely stock 5.0? Saying that v6 cars will eat your 5.0 is a generalization. I rest my case...
Rich, I was in the same boat as you but what I realized was that the 5.0 has a lot of potential with bolt-ons. As mentioned before, gears will really wake the car up. Also you can figure that if you buy a nice '94-'95 GT for the 4-5k extra you'll save on from buying a newer '99+ one you can really have a nice car. IE: '94 GT for 6k plus 4k for mods > Stock '99 GT. And thats if you can even find a '99 GT for 10k. It's all how you go about looking at it.
