Well, the fox is being given to my dad and before I let it go I wanted to know what it really had. First the modslisting only those affecting whp)

TKO500
4.10's
flex-fan
X303 cam
1.6 RR's (aluminum)
GT40P, shaved .030 with .030 gasket
Probe forged pistons
new 302 block (not 306, 302, 97' production probably)
BBK Xpipe
force II cat-back (flowmaster)
575 Barry Grant Demon carb (mechanical)
Edelbrock RPM manifold
FMS aluminum DS
Melling high volumn oil pump
underdriven crank pulley


Now the numbers: 244rwhp 262 rwtq. The A/F ratio was around 12.7-13.4 on the hand-held wideband. Peak hp was in the high 5000's. Not bad, better than I expected, I was hoping for around 220 or so. Anywho, LS1 coming soon (different ride, not in the fox)

how much horse is a stock fox? isnt it like 215?

normally more like 190 or so, but I have heads,cam,new motor, ect. ect. which is why the 244 even with the heavier TKO500 tranny and 4.10's

i bet its pretty wicked with those 4.10's

It is more of a pain in the ***, lol. I only did it b/c my mechanic wanted to put 4.88's in it and I wanted 3.73's so we compromised. I have a 3.27 first gear, 4.88 would have been crazy.

you should have more than that, last year I ran a stock 302 with stock heads and a b-303 cam, 3.73 gears, and no top compression ring in the #8 cylinder, and I made 246rwhp and 305 TQ

Yea as you can see from my runs I hit 277 although there is a good possibility some other things have been done to my engine by the previous owner.

Nah, thats about all the 5.0s good for imho. Thats why im ditching it and going LS1. The power curve was clean, no wiggles, the A/F was great, its just all it could do.

yea but that combo was a complete miss match... u go to little carb for to cam... u got much cam for to little heads.. with an e303 and no power valve u could probly hit 270rwp but ur tourque curve will be great...... oh and by the way i smash on ls1s, 03-04 cobras, and goats on some measly gt40ps,shortys, stock injectors,exhaust with stock cats,throttle body and intake.... so theres plenty of hope for the fox

You and I have the same engines, they're very much so capable of more, just keep working on her and she'll be there.
