RE: Fox body/LS1 conversion..
ya i was just making sure i wasen't out of wack like the other guy. its just the first i've ever heard of what hes talking about. i would throw in a 357 bored out to a 408, like randy (member here) did or whatever he has done. nothing against chevys cause they produce good trucks and good cars for us to beat lol. but ya its just a first for me, sounds stupid if you ask me but each chooses their own.

RE: Fox body/LS1 conversion..
Depends on where you post, post in the hybrid section I'll be
surprised if you go down in flames. As far as I'm concerned put any engine in
any car you want. I plan on building am LS1 powered RX7 in the next few months.
Big motor, small, light car is a very old and very good way to go fast. I was treated
to a WOT blast from a 1991 RX7 with a tuned 02 LS1 with better cam, intake on it.
It was eye-opening. After successfully fighting the urge to wet my pants as I was pressed
HARD into the seat I realized he had already shifted 3 times, and had never stopped
spinning the tires. I have no idea if he was bs'ing me, but he claimed the car gained like
80 lbs on the swap, and would accellerate/brake/corner at over 1 G!
I need to build one for myself soon!
Good luck on the swap

RE: Fox body/LS1 conversion..
Wouldn't it be cheaper to just get a crate motor so you'd have to do less fabrication or are you looking for the unique factor? I'd think you could get the same or more horsepower doing that. I just can't imagine looking at a Mustang and hearing the Chevy 350 rumble coming out of it. That'd be a good project though, best of luck.

i only wish i could be as open-minded as JD, since i have to admitt he makes alot of sense, but unfortunetly for me, i'm a pure retarded ford fanboy... all i have to say about this is why not do a 347 stroker ? you'll have the same displacement (with an extra cube lol) and you can get a higher CR and then bang! there you have it....same damn thing as an LS1, easier swap, and no weird looks from the chevy and ford guys
