4.10 with 5 speed

RE: 4.10 with 5 speed
I had 3.73's with mine and I had a lot of wheel spin at first, then I put a W/C 2.95 first transmission in it and it knocked a lot of that wheel spin down, plus I was able to hold first gear a lot longer which was a major advantage. I wouldn't go with 4.10's with a 5 speed, it would just spin too much.

ive actually run mine down the track with the 4.10s and a 26 tire, and its fine, and my buddy has a 90 GT with the same mods as my car, only he has 3.73s, and i whoop him on the street, and make 13.90 passes while he makes 14.10s

all i know is i daily drive my car with 4.10s 26 tall tires, highway drive it at least twice a week, still get great gas milage, and have never had any problems. bite the bullet, get 4.10s, i promise you wont regret it.

If I had 4.10s and it only revved to 100MPH I'd have to shift into forth in the 1/4 mile since I'm trapping 111MPH when you start making more power with a modded or built and swapped engine choosing the RIGHT gear comes to play.

RE: 4.10 with 5 speed
Ok this is just my opinion but I can tell you If your gonna drive it alot you will be happy with the 3.73 gears. My car does have plenty of engine mods but It also has plenty of suspention upgrades and even with my nitto drag radials first gear Is just about useless for me and I have 3.73s. I have to feather the gas pedal like crazy and It still just lights the rears up about half way threw third is when the wheels start pulling hard which aint worth a darn. If you wanna spin some wheels and just have fun burning out or put some slicks on it and race then the 4.10s maybe for u, but trust me 3.73 will do all you want it to. I can be rolling threw town in second and just lay on the gas and it will jump out from under me in a minute so If you gonna mod your car to make good power you will be just wasting you time with the 4.10 and making the local tire man rich ! LOL I know alot of folks around here that lack power go for the 4.10 becuase they think its cool that they can now spin wheels so easy threw town and make people beleive they have a hog under the hood.
