Default How I became a 5.0 Fan

Figured I would share this...it actually got printed in Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords like in 1994...ya I am old...35 now....

I used to be a hardcore Chevy Guy...Had a 72 Monte Carlo(looks like a Chevelle)...396 Chevy Big Block that was bored .060..ported heads...huge cam 12:1 compression...you get the point...TCI Turbo 400 trans...411 gears..etc etc etc....Best 1/4 mile was 13.5 with no traction...anyway it was a fast car, but it weighed like 4500 pounds and handled like crap...but it looked real nice...everything under the hood was chrome...even the headers...

Well anyway one night back in 93 I am out tearin it up at Hampton Beach, NH.....This kid in a 90 Notch pulls up next to me and says do you want to race that boat..so of course I say whatever 5.0 guy lets go....Well he pulled me all night long....3 times he pulled me....from a rolling start..from a stop and from 60-120.....(the notch had gt-40 heads, intake and a blower)

The next day I decided to sell the Monte Carlo and I bough/built my 90 Notch...

I've liked the mustang since I can remember. I was about 12 or so and my friends parents went car shopping and I went with them. In the car lot there was a 1969 Mach1. I sat in that car and started to row through the gears making the engine sounds lol, I was kicken *** down the 1320!

i've always been a lover of the mustang, but back in 1990 all the rich kids at our highschool had 5.0's. There must have been about 5-6 in the parking lots at all times during the day. It wasn't too hard to fall in love with the 5.0 after that.

Plus, Vanilla Ice loved em... so it was a no brainer [8D]

I don't want that mustang!!

My brother-in-law had this old stang. I had a International tow-truck I was selling for $600
he wanted the truck. He wanted me to trade and give him $300 boot I told him I DO NOT WANT THE CAR! I don't like mustangs(I had never driven one) He stayed at it for two months,
He went as far as putting the stang in my name and parking it in my driveway for three weeks.
In the end he gave me the stang and $400 to get the truck(Thank god he pushed )
took me two months before I had to drive it (my van would not start, hade to get to work)
stang started went to work and was offered $1500 on Monday $2500 on Tuesday $3500 on Wednesday (((( I STEEL GOT MY STANG)))) been 12 years now
