Default carb, speed density, or maf?

ok i have a 87 gt which is speed density. would it be better going to carb. or maf when i begin to mod or what? how hard is the maf swap compaired to swapping to carb? most of my family is more familar with carb. compaired to maf and stuff. which would be cheapest and more reliable for a daily driver? would carb. be better than maf in the long run or what?

since its gonna be ur dd i would say maf. but for performance u would prob want a carb. maf is good for cams, but not needed, u can make great power without it. a sd setup is fine just when u get a cam make sure u dont get one too big or it wont work unless u grab a great tune.

i really would like to get a big cam cause i am mad in love with the sound and the way it rocks. i am hoping for a big cam with some good heads (not sure yet) and either a carb or some intake (not sure yet). i will be stock for a while but trying to plan ahead.

so maf would probably be better than carb in this situation? just wondering but would the cam situation be affected with carb as well like speed density is?

i dunno bout carbs much, just fuel injection... a few guys here rly know their carbs tho... they can chime in

but its already set up for fuel injection.. why go to carb? waste of parts/time/money... for u, and ur quest for a lopey cam, just go mass air

IMO efi is so much easier. the fact that you can just hook up a comp is much easier than dealing with every vacuum line, and a finely tuned efi can beat a carb easily. if its a dd then sd or a maf is fine. you probably dont need a radical cam. my cousin has an x cam and he built a lx coupe that only dynoed 315 to the wheels and his advice to me that if you want a radical cam dont use it as a dd cuz it will run aweful. basically if you want a nasty cam dont rely on your mustang as a dd
