Can I get NHRA cage info.

RE: Can I get NHRA cage info.
okay, did research...didn't really help ha ha.
doesn't aswer questions about how many points, or if can be bolted in or if it has to be welded.
it says 11.99-11.00 needs a roll bar...once again, no specifics
and a roll bar if you have a full-bodeid, un altered firewall, floor, or body, can get by with a bar from 10.00-10.99
other than that 10.99 and quicker require a full cage, once again, no specifics.
and just for your really fast guys, if you run 7.50-9.99, you have to have your chassis inspected every three years by ASN and hava serialized sticker affixed to cage before participation.
Now 2kwik, can I have a little insight??? is that good enough for you?????!!!!

RE: Can I get NHRA cage info.
all roll bars must be within 6 inches of the rear or side of the drivers head, extend in height at least 3 inches above drivers helmet, and must be at least as wide as the drivers shoulders or within 1 inch of the doors. roll bars must cross braced to prevent lateral collapse, and rear braces must be of the same diameter and wall thickness as the main hoop and intersect with it no more than 5 inches from the top of the main hoop. a sidebar must be included on the drivers side, and must pass the driver at a point midway between the shoulder and elbow
thats just one of many...and i'm not typing any more so get the rule book
edit: by the way a roll bar refers to a main hoop with cross brace, 2 rear braces and 1 or 2 door bars , a rollcage refers to something that completley enclose the driver

RE: Can I get NHRA cage info.
a bolt in cage, just like bolt in subframes is pointless. the stress will elongate the bolt holes and as soon as that happens the parts are able to move all over the place negating any benefit they may have once had

RE: Can I get NHRA cage info.
if you plan on building one yourself, you really should get the rule book becasue i've heard if you do have a cage it needs to meet specs or you cant run even if you have a 23 second car, i dont now if thats a track rule or an IHRA/NHRA rule
