Default What should I expect?

I have a 92 GT vert and I just got a little bit of change to give it some help. I purchased the cobra upper and lower intake about a year ago and let a friend who said he knew what he was doing install the upper and lower with 70mm throttle body and 76mm maf with a 180 thermostat and flexalite fan underdrive pulleys upgraded amp and then bbl longtubes and x pipe wil flowmasters. Now... He didnt put the upper and lower on correctly and it has been eating oil, the headers are loose and sound terrible. I purchased afr 185cc heads, x303 cam, 1.6 frpp roller rockers, 24lb injectors, cobra valve covers, 255 fuel pump with regulator, 1 inch cobra intake spacer. What should I be expecting from that combo? The lift on the cam is .542-.542 and the maximum on the AFR 185's is .550. I wanted something to thump pretty good and give me good all out performance. After its done saturday I will be taking it to get tuned the following weekend. What should I be expecting power wise with the afr's and that setup? This is on the stock block and will be daily driven.

I would say low 300 to the wheels... maybe like 320-330. Thats if you get everything straightened out, no exhauat leaks etc.

There will definately be no leaks this time... I was hoping for 300 to the wheels. Thats great. perfect because I wanted to add a 100 shot after all is said and the tune goes well. Do you think with those heads and that cam a 100 shot will work well?

i think the heads are going to be to big for the motor and u won;t be able to pull enough rpms for the u get the full benefit from them. r u getting ur pistons flycut or do they already have huge valve reliefs in them? remember the 185's have 2.02 intake valves and then u have the x-cam. personally i would go with the AFR 165's but thats just my .02's

Depending on the cam you dont always need to have your pistons flycut... with the x cam though you will. But anyway, from talking to some VERY experienced people 185's are not too large for a 302.

Yea, thats why I said that w/ the x cam you will have to get them done... unless your already running aftermarket pistons which you did not say. Are you?

Everything is stock, pistons and all... So should I return the cam and go smaller? It did not say when I bought it that it would need anything extra done to the engine... Even with the heads and rockers it needs more work done?

Your not going to be able to run those heads unless you get your pistons flycut. Or you can just take back your cam and call up Camshaft Innovations and have them do a custom grind for you for like $300 bucks. He can also do a rocker combo for you too.
