Default pushrod??

ok i have edelbrock performer heads with pedastal mount rockers and i am going to use hardend pushrods but the all say to use with guide plates do i have to use them and if i do how will the rocker bolt down?

i dont think you "have" to but theyll help alot, and i belive that they go under the pedestal when you screw it in, now there are different typpe tho, im not 100% on this though
