RE: egr and smog delete
you can cut the ends of the "y" pipe off, use them on opposite sides, and backwards, goober them real good w/ rtv, and rebolt them in, it will plug the thermacotr holes, but better to use the plugs ifyou can get them.
you can do a number things w/ the pipe that goes to the h-pipe
you can roll it over and weld it, smash it flat and weld or jb weld it , or cap it and weld it.
anything is fine, you just don't exhaust leaking from it, it will tick like a mother.
you'll need to cap off a couple vac lines, you can use rubber plugs and caps from autozone, easiest way is cut them off short and slip a cap over it
i can't remember anything else really, it's hard to reach the head holes to screw the plugs in, you'll fight w/ that a bit
it will however be extremely easy to get to the rt side plugs now after the smog is all gone
b4 you remove everything, run a piece of string while the tensioner and belt are good, to get your measurement for the new belt, you will route the new belt opposite over the crank as you did b4 when the smog pump was on there.
there will be a difference whether you have ud pullies or not so if you use what someone else told you, make sure your exact, whatever measurement you come up w/ get the next 1/2" longer and shorter , then return the 2 you don't need.
the lenth of the belt is the belt part #
like a gates belt is ko60745
the 60 = 6 rib
the 745 = 74.5 inches
so.... a ko780 = 78 inches etc

Not to hijack, but maybe someone can help me a lil bit
My egr has no vac. line going to hit- i also have no smog. Should i just delete the egr or what exactly? i scanned the computer last weekend and it threw-EGR control cirtcuit a bove closed unit.(forget the number) so i took it off and the vavle was stuck shut, so i unstuck it, and ever since seems like car has been running funny-idle/ and loss of power here and there?
thanks for the help

RE: egr and smog delete
look buddy you dont over stress it.
when you remove the smog lines from the heads, you will have unscrew them.
so just find something to match, copper or steel no matter.
I did a smog and a/c delete, and when I ported my heads the machinist stuck a
bronze rod from end to end, and spot welded it on the outside end. therefore he
could raise the ports higher on the exhaust side, so he wouldnt worry about cutting into the smog hole. It worked out great.
