Default Now im Confuesd

I just replace my fuel pump a week ago and now the car wont start. I dont hear the pump kick on at all. Just for kicks i put power to the old pump and it kicks on. I have replaced the pump and the relay under the seat. Anybody have any ideas on what the hell is going on with my car. Its a 86 5.0 5 spd. I suck at diagnosing so any help would be great. Thanks all.

Did the new pump work for a little while and quit? If so you might have a bad connection at the pump (in the tank).

There is an "interia switch" in the trunk that has to be re-set sometimes too.

Yes it worked for like 3 days and now it doesn't work. When i pulled the original pump, there were only a power and a ground connection. So should i just make sure those are tight and make sure there is a good connection?

Is there an inertia switch on an 86? I looked for it but i couldnt find it or any access panels for it. The only access panels in my trunk are for the rear shock nuts.
