I didnt know how much the chip would help. Also is the 36-38 psi with vacuum off? I am also not sure when to shift the car. I was shifting at 6k.

Im not sure of the elevation. I was racing at indianapolis raceway park. Where the big boys run. With my vacuum hooked up it pulls fp down to about 35psi. I have never heard of unhooking it. You think that would really help out?

Mine is 38psi with vac. line connected. Unhook the vac. line and plug it, and set the pressure to ~43 at idle. You'll be set. That setup tends to peak around 5800, so that would be a good point to shift. Don't waste money on a chip though, get a dyno tune. You'll get faster, be sure you're not going to blow up, and also find out the best shift points for your specific car (and get some numbers!).

a dyno would help ya on shift points...i always go 300 rpm over my peak...this will also tell ya how lean/rich you are.

you can manipulate alot with timing and fuel..

every engine is different...you might be ok with 30's at 40 psi and you might not...ever see puffs of black smoke? eyes burn when you walk behind car when running...it might be ol'school, but it works...i have been through 4 different cams and two different set-ups,and let me tell ya they are night and day..

Yep. If you can hook sooner you have more time to accellerate. The only thing that doesn't affect your 1/4 time is your reaction time

what? i think you reaction time has something to do with it as well. if you just sit on the line forever then its guna take you longer to finish!
