Default 351W Piston Questions

Should I reuse my stock pistons in my 351W. I'll be spraying a 100 shot w/ a set of Trick Flow TW Heads anda .520 Lift Flat Tappet cam. Although I'm not going to bringing the motor upwards of 5,500 Rpms. So in short, would it be safe to reuse the stock pistons here, or get a set of aftermarket Pistons. BTW, I'm not going to Bore it, just a hone. Thanks for the help

backyard redneck rule of thumb # 101: if you can catch your fingernail on the ridge at the top, it needs to be bored. very vague but its somewhere for the adverage guy to start. if you dont bore, please - for the love of god BE CAREFULL with the ridge reamer. you can destroy a block really easy with these stupid tools if you dont know what your doing - and you dont wanna have to sleeve 8 holes cause you fugged up

no, you mic the piston and then use a bore gauge to check the cylinders at the top and bottom. best bet is to bring it to the local machine shop and ask them to check it real quick, they should just bring the gauge outside and check it while the thing is sitting in your trunk/truck bed/whatever and they shouldnt charge you. if they do, take your business elsewhere
