Default difference in Heads

Ok, I talked to some mustang guys in town, and i think i have finally found the problem with my car. The car has a brand new short block in it. but they left the stock heads, and knowing the guy and his level of work. He 1. Didn't put them on right. 2. He didnt clean them good enough, or they have some small cracks. well my buddy said he had a shop in town port and polish and clean his heads all up fora little lessthan $300. Now my car is my daily driver so i need to be able to drive it. So my idea and question is could i just snag a set of heads and valve covers off of a 87-93 i belive are the years and use them on my 94? I know the 94's have notches in the covers for the alt. so i didnt know if they would work??? I know getting gt40p's would flow better but i already have LT headers on and im not going to change them. so what years did the actual gt40 heads come on??? I will probibly end up just going stock E7's cuz there's not much here in kansas. Thanks for the help in advance.

www.car-part.com and search based off your zip code - you'll find some cheap yards around you. 93+ cobras, and what is it something like up to 97.5 exploders?

there is a big enough difference where normal headers wont work, trust that because we hear it all the time.

so you did a search on car part and didnt find a cylinder head for a mid 90's explorer in kansas? thats kinda wierd
