RE: Mustang vs. 2.0L Jetta?
that made my day. I needed a laugh, jetta beating a 5.0, even if the 5.0 had a blown headgasket and was only firing on 7 of it's cylinders, it could beat all day on that jetta....
but that may be an exaggeration....
crap, I gotta run to class...

its funny that this topic came up lol... one of my best freinds has a 2.0 jetta i think its a 98 and it is THE slowest car i have ever been in... im dead serious when i say that. He let me borrow it one day to do some work to it and im pretty sure it wouldnt break 18's at the strip....

I used to have a 2003 Gti 1.8t 20v and that little thing was pretty fast. I had a Revo chip and a 3' turboback exhaust, and it ran 14.1 @ 99mph in the 1/4. That was about 1500 dollars in mods . I would have to say that stock, the 1.8t motor is pretty even with my 94 GT. I'm not sure if my motor in the mustang is funked up but I ran 15.5@ 90mph stock (I had just a catback). The 2.0 motor is slow, thats a 8v that is designed for good gas mileage and thats it.
