Yep!! lol I have my f150 in my sig running 285/75r16 they are 9in rims. Np at all even looks good. I have some better pics if ya wanna see. I know im talking about a truck but same is same i have a 9 inch wide rim with 285's in it fine. Also on my stang with 15in rims i run a 275/60r15 . On Stock 10 holes. Hope this helps ya. 
15in,16in,17in = same. Since the first number = with (sorry spelling bad) the second number is a ratio of the height hence 275/35r17 is 275 milimeters wide 35% ratio of that is height. But long storie short yes for 17in,16in,15in, x 9in will fit a 275 tire,
