I have the same problem, it gets worse towards the end of 4th gear. I had my mechanic check my drive shaft and rear, and he said everything is ok. Where is the harmonic balancer located? And when you say mounts, do you mean motor mounts or tranny mounts?

I dunno if its the same problem. But the bolts through my arm kepts coming loose. Just put some loc-tite on it tonight. Hopefully that solves it. But with it loose it rattled horrible at high rpms.

check all your bolts make sure they are torques correclty, check the HB on the front of the engine, mine vibs like hell but i have all new mounts under 3500rpm though it settles out fine no vibes,, most will vib at high rpm, remember our cars are unibodies and suck for rattles and vibrations
