Idle air control
My car stalls from time to time when I pull up to a stop sign or light. How hard is this thing to clean? Any tips? How about thethrottle body?Anything else I can check?
I just tuned it up and that didnt help. The only thing I havent done tune up wise is replace the fuel filter, which is gonna be done soon. Car will start up immediately and runs great otherwise.

RE: Idle air control
no ones giving any love hu? haha. it MAY be your iac, my bet, from experience, is your MAF. with idle problems and smooth running problems the first thingS that i would look at is your MAF TPS and you IAC. the IAC is a big pain many times, they can cause problems. clean your maf, then replace your tps, test for voltage it you know how. if you know how you should the TPS is about 70 bucks the best is .999 volts at idle and max 5 volts a WOT. good luck!!!

to clean the IAC just take it off(CAREFULLY! you're gonna reuse the gasket) with a can of carburator cleaner, THROUGHLY spray the inside of the IAC and the throttle body, until comes out clean, I used close to half a can, but im picky though, less will be fine. after you put it back on, your idle will be abit high, mine was at 1k rpms for awhile, after a few miles it will clear up and be fine

RE: Idle air control
Check the system for codes ......TroubleCodes.net- engine & OBD2 Trouble Codes and Technical info & Tool Store. If you have a code 29 (VSS signal), it will cause the stalling problem when coming to a stop....the EEC-IV uses the VSS signal to control idle when car is in motion and prevent stalls when stopping by increasing IAC duty cycle.
