non HO to HO
so im in need of a new motor and this guy has one with 30k miles for a good price the only thing is that he doesnt know if it is an HO motor or not. it is currently in his truck. ive searched this topic and from what i read all i need to do is put a new camshaft in it and change the firing order in order to make it an HO.
can someone verify this for me ??
and whatdo you haveto do to install a camshaft? (newbie question sorry)

you wont be able to change the non-ho to and ho engine. the ho engine block has 2 threaded holes in the center to bolt down the "spider" braket that is needed to keep the roller lifters from spinning. But i suppose you could just drill those holes........but i dont knowof anyone doing it. but if your switching to the ho roller set-up, you'll need that spider bracket and "wishbone" retainers. The HO has larger intake ports also...
