i put a new belt on my car a couple weeks ago. my question is do these belts have like a break in period when you first put them on. do they stretch a little bit at first. also are they sapost maybe leave a little bit of black dust laying around. not sure if this is normal or not.

They dont have a break in period. They will stretch a little and wear over time. Belts should not give off black dust. Where is the black dust? You sure its from the belt? I never heard of one doing that before.

yea i am positive it is from the belt. i can already see the belt wearing and i have only put like 250 miles on the car. the dust is on the fan and the brand new water pump. i will try to get a pic of it on the website.bbbbb

on a side note my tensioner is just about at the end of its abilities. when i put the belt on it wasn't like that.

i am going to take the belt of and check my accessories tommorow see if any of them are putting some drag on the belt and maybe it is causing some friction. i know my power steering fluid was pretty low so maybe that was it.
