Default Installing the dip stick tube??

I have been having a tough time getting the dipstick tube installed into the block of my 5.0. Are there any tricks or tips for doing this? Thanks,

Craig

What I have done, is put a 3/8 wrech on the end and take a hammer and punch, lightly tap on the punch (which is sitting on the wrench) and it should slide right on in. I have bbk shorty equal length headers and i just laced the punch through the pipping and went from there.

It seems to fit but I cant get it all the way into the block. It is in slightly but is still leaking a little oil. It is an engine from a 1990 Mark VII, has F150 headers, and is installed in a 1990 Wrangler. Thanks for the idea SoDakStang, I'll have to try that out.

Thanks,

Craig

If it's going in. And it feels like it's bottoming out, and still leaking. You can always clean the oil off of it and put alittle silcone around it to seal it. That is... If it's not loose in the hole or anything.

Also, change your oil right after. You may need to calibrate your dipstick.
